Rhona - Brand New!

Our gorgeous daughter Rhona was born this morning at 2.39am. Martin unfortunately missed the birth, and also missed by a minute, being told he had a daughter, and found out 12 hours later, as he had just text to say he had boarded the plane!

All went well and from 5cm to pushing passed in a 40 minute whirlwind of agony! It was all worth it and Rhona was born weighing 7lb 12oz. Catriona did amazingly well as my birth partner, considering she doesn't like blood and gore and faints getting jabs! She went home, hoping to be picking us up at 9 to go home. Unfortunately, Rhona was a bit cold and needed to go in an incubator for an hour then the dr wanted to make sure she maintained her temperature so we ended up getting home 11 hours after we had hoped.

We had hoped that Daddy would be home at 6pm in time to pick us up from the Maternity hospital, but due to thick fog in Aberdeen, his flight was diverted to Glasgow. He finally made it home at midnight and had a look at his new daughter then collapsed into bed exhausted.

A wonderful day, so very glad she is here now. I am sure you will see more of her. May have to change my diary name!!
