No. 177: Spotted Redshank
We've had a really fantastic day at Minsmere; what a truly amazing place it is! Finally some sunshine! If I'm being really picky, it was a bit breezy so many of the smaller reed bed birds in particular were not showing as well as they might. We logged 60 species of bird including Bittern, Marsh Harrier, Hobby, Bearded Tit, assorted Terns and Gulls, and probably most unexpectedly, a Bee-eater! Sadly the latter was just too far away, but even then, I still had a choice between Knots and these Spotted Redshanks in breeding plumage. Still not the greatest shot, but there are two birds, and the bonus of a couple of Avocets in frame. We also saw Spineless Si!
