Graveyard Goddess

Some strange objects can be found in cemeteries. When I stumbled into a local one whilst looking for deer to photograph I was surprised to see a mob of concrete meerkats amongst the graves.

At St Barnabas church in Mayland this morning this, rather distressed, model of a Citroen DS caught my eye. The Goddess, so called because in French the initials D and S sound like their word for goddess, is one of my favourite cars. They have been in the news recently as it is sixty years they first went on sale. On 22nd and 23rd May there was a massive meet in Paris. Seven hundred of these automotive legends paraded to the Place de la Concorde. I think the design that was avant-garde when the car was launched still looks fresh.
