Old Fire Station
A very boring journey down to Oxford. I was dreading the heat, as (for logisitical reasons) I had to wear a suit and tie all the way; as it happened, it got less humid and warm, and more rainy the further South I got.
Walked from the station up to Mansfield College, passing along George St on the way.
It was lovely to see the Old Fire Station again. It was here that I first met Meles, back in 1986. Of course, it was several years after that when we first started courting...
A very fine evening. A fascinating lecture by Prof. Mary Beard, arguing about the Independence referendum with Helena Kennedy, eating a very posh dinner at High Table (hence the suit) and bad behaviour with D & L involving whisky and snuff.
Top fun!
