Weather in a box
Well, that's not strictly true. To be more accurate it should say weather measuring equipment in a box but that seemed very long winded! I took my Year 7s out to study the weather today.
The blue things are anemometers to measure the strength of the wind. We also took out thermometers and the bubbles were used to work out the wind direction (and for a bit of fun!). Of course, the weather was beautiful today. Still, warm with hardly any wind. That meant the anemometers didn't move at all and the temperature stayed around 20.
Thank goodness for the bubbles! The saving grace of today's lesson.
