Birling Gap - National Trust

This shows how erosion is affecting the chalk cliffs of the south coast. The National Trust bought the existing café and spent a fair bit of money doing it up, adding a shop and exhibition space. Lovely, but I was surprised at this decision given that the average erosion is 0.7m a year, and the year before last it was much more. 

We sat outside today eating choccy lollies to look at the view - not too far from the edge. Yes, there is a fence!
