.......Completely random photo...........

That has no bearing on what I am about to write.

I have today tested a scientific hypothesis and proved it to be wrong!

I will publish my findings and achieve fame and fortune.............and hang out with Stephen Hawking, Brian Cox and several others.

Went fishing this morning to Partridge Lakes.............purpose built, multi water complex.

We fished on "Ribbon"....not sure why it's called that because it is doughnut shaped...but never the less.

Ribbon was originally built as a water for disabled anglers............big wide pegs with barriers to prevent wheel chairs etc rolling into the water............not too wide.........stocked with a variety of fish.

Nowadays all the pegs on all the waters have easy access...........so disabled anglers can fish most of the ponds...........that's how come it is now used for matches.......but it's still popular during the week for the disabled as it's the nearest pond to the cafe.

There are 20 pegs on Ribbon.......but perceived wisdom is that pegs with high numbers don't do well ............I drew peg 16. Four of the five money winners were on low number pegs, !st peg 5, second peg 6, Section winner peg 1 and section winner peg 9.............the winner had 66lb.....I had one fish.

And here's where the Science comes in..........naturally when the pond is fished during the week most people select the pegs just as you come through the entrance, 5, 6, 7, ............by the time 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9 and 10 are taken then the other pegs are left empty.

Now you know the theory that fish only have a 5 second memory.well obviously that's not true because the fish in Ribbon remember where all the bait goes in during the week...the low number pegs.............and where there's no bait during the week......the high number pegs.....and todays match proves it.........money winners, big weights on low numbers..........no winners, low weights on high numbers....so clealy a fish's memory is longer than 5 seconds

QED............I shall be expecting notification from the Nobel committee soon.
