Col du Petit Saint Bernard pass

The col du Petit Saint Bernard pass connects Aosta Valley in Italy (our destination) with France.  It is a very steep route with lots of serpentines where the snow is still lying in gullies on north facing hills.  I loved this patch of cloud against the blue sky and also the way the snow just stopped at the roadside.  This route is famous for motorcyclists around Pentecost which was just a few weeks ago, but was more popular with pedal cyclists on the day we drove over the pass.  These men and women were amazing in the way they were able to climb the hills on their bikes.
