Courage

The juvenile seagull trio have been squeaking and squawking all day long with mum near by and calling for her mate to bring an early dinner for gawd's sake.  Yesterday one of the chicks had fallen off the roof and was staggering around the narrow shelf that runs around the building between wall and multi level roof.  The cats walk along this so I could hardly bear to look out of the window.  Anyway,  don't know how, but today, all three juveniles are back on the roof.  Probably an early flying lesson gone wrong.  Even though it's instinct, it must take a leap of faith and not a little courage, to fly.

Very hot today. I haven't left the flat.

I wrote to my university in York (UK) recently to ask if I could resurrect the Masters' dissertation that I abandoned this time last year when Dad became ill.  Not sure why I decided to try and complete, other than it sits, unfinished, in my head.  I  have now have been approved to complete, with a deadline of 20th December,  and this afternoon I wrote to my tutor and told him - so here we go again, starting over..... Mixed feelings and not even sure that I still have the skills and knowledge required after a year spent academically dormant ...
