Friend or Foe?

I love to see this plant while I am out walking - I believe it is Hogweed or Cow Parsley (Cow Parsnip in North America).  Are they actually the same thing?  Apparently, they are related to the carrot and are edible.  However, I know that their 'cousin' the GIANT Hogweed is very very toxic and shouldn't even be touched, so I am just extra careful and keep my distance, just in case.  I do think they are pretty, though, especially as a silhouette against the evening sky.
