...and then they started eating it!

Today I'm reminded of the Dr. Seuss book, Oh, the Places You'll Go! My subtitle would be, "And Oh, the Things You'll Eat When You Get There!"

A couple neighbor girls walked in holding this lotus flower seed pod. I thought it made an interesting show and tell object...and then they started eating it.

To enjoy this interesting snack, you pull out the green seeds, which are the size of large jelly beans, and peel the green skin off. Inside is a white oval. It doesn't have much flavor, but the process of getting to it makes for a fun snack if you're just looking for something to do while visiting with a friend.
