Hand painted sky

I woke to a glow inside the campervan that I've never seen before.

Pulled the curtain aside and this is what I saw.  I really looked as if it was handpinted with the multicoloured streaks.  Fortunately the camera was to hand and I didn't even have to get up, just pushed the door open, clicked the shutter, then snuggled back under the blankets.

When I did finally get up I decided that my planned porridge wasn't very interesting so I went to Mapua for breakfast and sat enjoying the view of the boats on their moorings while I enjoyed another cuppa and read the paper - by which time it was almost midday.

I drove back along the coast to Kina Beach where Jasper and I had a great walk.  Being an idiot I walked until my heel had had enough, then of course I had to walk back.  Jasper kept stopping to see why I was taking so long.

Dumb!  Reminder to self: only walk until foot is half sore so I can get back without crawling.

By then I felt I'd earned another coffee so I stopped in at the Tasman store for caffeine and a Lime and almond cookie.  Divine!

I realised I wasn't ready to leave the area so I've found a park on Kina Peninsula and am settling in for the night.

Now to proof read reports!  Not the most joyous thing to do on a break, but rather a treat to get to do it with the sound of the sea and the native birds in my ears and the view of the beach through my windows.
