The Sound of Music

You can't visit Salzburg without doing something related to The Sound of Music!

Our first evening in Salzburg and Pete had managed to get tickets for the Salzburg Marionette Theatre.     Tonight's performance was The Sound of Music.   It was absolutely enchanting.   The puppeteers were so clever.    I have always loved the film, seen it countless times.    This puppet version is  truly exceptional.   If the poor wifi signal lets me I am putting a bad picture of the puppeteers in action as my extra photo.   i think i'll have to add it at a later date.

It is a beautiful city and we are staying in a very pleasant hotel just a few minutes walk from the centre.   It is boiling hot!  30 degrees today.    We had a slight panic at earlier when after boarding the plane at Gatwick the Captain announced that due to stormy weather over Europe our flight would not take off for another 2 hours.       We were very worried that we would not get here in time to check in to the hotel and get to the theatre in time for the show.   However,   luckily there was only a 30 minute delay and we arrived with about an hour to spare... phew.

With luck I'll have some good views to blip tomorrow.   It is a blippers paradise here!
