Firth of Forth Bridges and Oil Terminal.

The first Sunday of the month, so that means a Spokes Ride. Fortunately, the wind has died down, and we had a great trip out to Muiravonside Country Park, in Falkirk Council. The westerly wind, while a presence, didn't really slow us down that much. And it was dry, so we had a picnic.

The route out was along the National Cycle Network Route 1 to Cramond Brig, turning off at Burnshot and through Kirkliston, Faucheldean and Linlithgow. At Linlithgow Bridge, we turn left to get to our lunchtime stop.

One advantage of cycling out in to the wind, means that one the way back, we are quite fast, especially as most of the route is downhill as we head to the coast through Linlithgow and Philptoun to the Hopetoun Estate.

Just east of the Hopetoun Estate, you get some lovely views of the Firth of Forth. This is one of the Forth Road Bridge, the Forth Rail Bridge and the Oil Terminal. We head in to South Queensferry and hen Standingstane Rd as we have time for coffee and cake at Craigies Farm.

Then back to Burnshot and National Cycle Route 1 to head back in to Edinburgh.
