Again, no idea..

My sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl today after 30 hrs of labour (eek). I'm so very proud of her.

Today will be one of those days where you remember the detail, bound together with emotional significance no doubt. In years to come I'll recall these moments as clearly as I can today..

My sister's radiant and proud smile as I entered the room.
The unnerving bleep of the machine next to the bed.
Busy blue people coming in and out.
My sister's humour, she is funny.
Shared sweet sugary things. Tea.
A strong heart beat under soft Muslim cloth.
A button nose and a contented sigh,
I love her already.
Muted moans from the room next door.
An unspoken relief.
A tuna melt panini from the hospital cafe.
Rain.. all day.
And Enrique Iglesias's Hero played on the way home.

I can rest easier tonight :)
