Glen Lyon
I haven't been here since my early serious Munro bagging days. Work took me back today. This is a beautiful Perthshire glen roughly sandwiched between the Loch Rannoch- Loch Tummel valley and that of Loch Tay.
Apart from its superb mountains Glen Lyon is notable for being home to the oldest trees in Scotland and a couple of small hamlets with very French sounding names. I'm sure there is a story to that. Despite almost 100 miles by road to this site I can see the tops of Glen Lyon hills from the top of Roy Bridge mountains.
