Weigela

This pretty shrub grows beside the pond, adding beautiful colour to the spring garden. I haven't grown these before and gave it a bit of a trim this spring, inadvertently cutting off many of the blooming branches. Now that I know what it is, I will have to trim it this summer after the flowers are finished, as I now know that it blooms on last year's growth.
