Watering

21.6C and bright with plenty of sunny sunshine. Light breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound was out in the back garden all morning. She moved between sunny spots and shade as she has been doing of late. There was more breeze this morning, so the garden was cooler. She did come in at lunchtime when she heard me open the corned beef ... from all the way out on the lawn. After scoffing the four corners off the slices of corned beef and having a drink she wandered back out and settled in the dappled shade of a small tree.

I went for a walk after lunch. I went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. The onshore breeze was very pleasant. At Scryne I turned down the road to Easthaven and then came back along the cycle path and round in a long loop, heading into Carnoustie then up the main road before turning along for home. As I walked down the last couple of hunderd yards I noticed the potato watering equipment had drawn level with the three trees, and of course I couldn't resist the opportunity.

Maeve came to meet me when I got home but was more relaxed about me having been away without her than she seemed yesterday. She came in for a while and fell asleep in my her office. Later I mowed the front lawn. Maeve resumed her place near the small tree.
