The intended plan to get the 44 out to Balerno and walk back ran out of time, but we managed to get from Leith to Roseburn in time to get the bus back to arrive back home at almost the same time as the other one and their mum, who had been on a nursery trip to a farm park. We saw some herons (unless it was the same one in different places) and various other birds, including a crow eating a beached fish opposite Warriston crematorium. Apart from an unleashed dog terrifying him opposite the steps up to the gallery, all very nice.
