Postman survived
Had been busy preparing for bee parcel which arrived exactly as informed by the delivery company. Had to revise my views on their service.
Was also waiting for a small parcel from a pet supplier containing a comb to get out some of the very thick undercoat which is making life unpleasant for him on the hot days. The comb had been recommended by daughter Kate during a long telephone call on Monday evening.
Flash is allowed to open his own parcels, the result can be seen. The comb is somewhere in the middle. Naturally, the comb didn't interest him but the three Frisbees that had also been ordered so as to reach the 19 Euros free P&P. My daughter wrote this evening that the same company requires 49 Euros in Ireland - it is a German (Munich) based company, perhaps they ship everything from Germany.
When Angie got home in the evening, she rode out with the dogs and subsequently tried out the combs. On Luna masses of undercoat came out but she seemed not to enjoy the experience - perhaps the first time it's a bit painful but I suspect her coat was a bit matted. Flash doesn#t like being combed so it was especially difficult and Angie gave up, waiting to do the job with me to hold him tomorrow.
I had been busy in the late evening getting two beehives moved into their new quarters now that the supplies have arrived. Hopefully, all the work of the last few days will now mean there is peace & quiet. I will though carry out a thorough check later this week when it's due to go over 30°C before plummeting again next week!. What an early summer we are having! No wonder the bees are swarming, feel like heading for the Med myself.
