DOUGHNUT OF THE WEEK

To Port Glasgow this morning to lead some training for the local CHCP.  My  chauffeur and I arrived 40 minutes early so whiled away the time over a cup of tea in Greggs.  Not tempted by any of the goodies on offer,  but  intrigued by the notion of a Doughnut of the Week.  I'll be back next Tuesday and am agog to know what will be offer then. Meanwhile, the Fact of the Day is that Greggs also sell 'Stoaters'.  Several folks came in and asked for them while we were there.  A Stoater is 'Prime Scottish Angus Beef with Gravy in a roll of your choice'.  In other words, a greasy mince piece*.

It was far too hot to work in the garden in the afternoon, but I delivered some recycled tools to the community garden and caught up on news with the Prof.  8.30 pm and still baking hot as I water the greenhouse. 

*A 'piece' is a Scottish sandwich.
