Wide Angle Wednesday - Modern

As modern as the day it was built, I reckon.

This home, Olympus,  was designed by G.N.Kenworthy, who was responsible for many prominent places which Sydneysiders would know, among them the State Theatre and the Cremorne Orpheum.

A bit of research shows that it is a heritage listed site, described as an an important and intact inter-war functionalist house that retains much of the original grounds which provide a setting for the house.

I would love to have gone into the garden, and made more of the beautiful lines, but thought it was just a step too far.

At the top of the mountain and overlooking Echo Point, I suspect it would once have enjoyed stunning views, but these days it overlooks a car park and trees.

I have included the gate as an extra.
