Toyota City: Sky Hall Toyota

Sky Hall Toyota was built in 2008 and is a new symbol of Toyota City. A large sports hall that not only houses high-level sporting events, but a hall that also provides free indoor wall climbing facilities, jogging courses, exercise studios and meeting rooms. The gym is also extremely cheap which costs 300 yen per entry after gaining membership (which is free). A world handball championship is currently being held here.

A unique characteristic is its eco-friendly and barrier free design with a natural ventilation system and water recycling system. The minimal design and aesthetics of the place really blends well with other major sites of the city. The lighting design is by the Reiko Chikada Lhting Design Group whilst the project was designed by Hisae Nozawa.

I would often come here in the mornings to exercise and late in the evenings to take photos and hang out with my friends. It's a very sombre place surrounded by concrete. The flowers that would be planted around the area were just beautiful and would look gorgeous when in full bloom (pictured in earlier blips I made two months ago). There are beautiful, minimal benches around here where I would spend my time gazing at the sky. It's peaceful and beautiful..
