Shy and retiring

Went up to the office for a meeting in the morning followed by a lunch out with colleagues to mark the impending (early) retirement of one of our number.

I was asked to say a few words in tribute to her over the coffee, but as soon as I got up and started to speak, regaling the company with an overview of her amazing and varied contract history, she threw her napkin over her head. I warned her that I would take a photo if she persisted, but she did, so I did. She's been an ace colleague, one of the best, although I'm afraid that rats and sinking ships did get a mention in my concluding remarks.
