Sheep and water
Two of the themes of this island, seen here in close juxtaposition. Another magnificent day of weather, and posting this on Tuesday I can conclusively state that we have had great weather. A couple of mornings of rain, some scattered showers, a fair bit of wind, a tiny bit of low cloud (mainly on Jura impeding the view), but otherwise sunshine - not traditional Scottish greyness.
Today's main expedition was back to the Pantry, our regular haunt for a daily dose of internet, which has done well out of us for teas, coffees, cakes and bacon sandwiches. The plan is to come here for breakfast on Wednesday before leaving. This time, though, we went over the hills and enjoyed a potter and some great views.
After our bacon sarnies, I did a wee bitty craft shopping, which necessitated rushing back to the cottage (see extra) to get some dosh with which to liberate a lovely sheepswool wall hanging, before engaging in a further act of liberation in relation to some Colonsay beer from the general store, which we enjoyed in the sunshine sitting outside the cottage admiring the view.
Later on we went sunset hunting again, but today's was officially a damp squib. However, a couple of little side trips allowed us to see Colonsay's airport (yes, this place has everything, including a contribution to the trope "what has the EU ever done for us?" - see extra), which possesses the best bit of tarmac on the island. Getting to the airport took us through the golf course (see extra). Yep. Sheep again. No need for a lawn mower.
