Book Club Camp 2015

Book Club Camp 2015

2 of us this year!    Times are changing.   Our group of 10 either travels a lot or has too many commitments, OR are just not up to this mini adventure anymore.   We tried different dates…
But every year it’s different.  We thought we’d compare with  this photo of "the old days" ,1996, with some of our original members.   R and I are 3rd and 4th in the back row -  I know—hard to see…(that's OKI!).  1996 - we still had our sailboat that some loved to sleep on.. 2015 we have to watch other peoples sailboats…:-) the rowing boat is the same on the dock.    We’ve been meeting at this island since 1993. (started up in 1990)  and we always chose this month to pick a book by an African American to honor our friend V who died a few years after this photo.  She LOVED coming here!  and we miss her.  The 2 of us BFFs had a great time doing all the usual things, walking, talking, eating, yoga, and boating. (see extra photo)

The book this year is Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.  Loved it . OH how I wish V was here!

I'm afraid I'm posting this in haste however since R has to leave early tomorrow morning, I've decided to ride back to Seattle with her to meet a couple of commitments I was going to miss.. just for 3 days.. R hasn't finished the book yet  so we will discuss it in the car!  Report tomorrow.  also I'm not taking the computer so will be using the iPhone..  and now H and I need to watch the very last Borgen episode 3rd season so I can return it to the library.  whew.  G'nite...will try to catch up in Seattle.
