As requested - recipe

The biscuits are Marietta biscuits, which are like rich tea, but not quite. I haven't found a UK biscuit yet!

It's 2 packets of them, broken into little pieces. My job as a child was to break them up :)

There are lots of variations on the internet, but I think this turned out perfect. I had no sherry though so decided to chance a drop of whiskey - which worked really well. I'm sure my gran would do the same.

It's the raw eggs part that always unsettled me, I'm not sure if perhaps they do cook slightly with the melted butter or if I have a chance of giving someone food poisoning??
