Calum & Mike

20 years after my by-election win I went out for dinner with a couple of the folk responsible for the successful result.

Calum Smith, on the left, was a party Press Officer at the time & he came to work with me after I won. He's still working for me.

Mike Russell, on the right, was the SNP's Chief Executive.

Such a long time ago and it's a privilege to still be such good friends with both of them.

The picture is taken inside the Mitre Bar on the Royal Mile where we went for a post dinner drink. I was there for sentimental reasons. My Gran used to live up the stairs from this pub & this was where she and my Pop used to go for a drink. A little bit of time travel for me.
