Everyone's a critic

Well, that didn't take long... The 'artistically-wrapped' buoys are looking somewhat the worse for wear. 

I have some theories as to what has happened:

1) The original artist was so incensed by the shoddy wrapping work that he decided to deliberately vandalise his own creation. Well, it beats cutting your ear off, I suppose.

2) A slight gust of wind ripped the shoddily-attached sheets of paper off the buoys. Or someone sneezed nearby. Or the wrapping just fell off out of embarrassment. Natural causes, anyway.

3) The artistic community of Belfast voted with their wallpaper strippers and declared the buoys to be an eyesore. I'm not sure they've improved things by doing half a job...

It'll be interesting to see how long the buoys are left in this sorry state. They now look truly, truly awful, which is one truly more than usual.
