Sweet William

My mum confessed today that she's never liked these flowers. I have loved them for as long as can remember though I've never had any success at growing them!

My failing memory means I'd assumed I used to get them from my nanna & grandad's garden but I'm told an old employee used to bring them to work from his garden when I was little. 

This was in the days before health & safety madness when I could regularly be found under a lorry or a trailer chatting to the mechanics getting covered in grease and oil and diesel and muck, and, occasionally, paint! 

Different times ;)

In other news, I couldn't resist giving them a little Fractalius razzle dazzle! :)
