Return to the Wild West

Some people row the Atlantic, others ski to the North Pole or cycle round the world, but His Lordship and I are going on our own little adventure.

We've done the Marathons, the Etapes, the desert camping and the cruise and now we are looking forward to the next challenge- using our bus passes to back pack through the Hebrides from Lewis to Barra in a week. Can you imagine the excitement in that? No car, no bicycles just the trusty Cal Mac ferries and the redoubtable buses.
We are going north to south to avoid a Sabbath in strict 'Wee Free' Lewis.

There are no records to be set unless it is the number of midge bites we can collect or the number of days we don't fall out.

We will spend two nights each in Lewis and Harris, one night in S Uist and two nights in Barra. Well that's the theory, but time and tide may have other ideas- man proposes and God disposes as the saying goes.

Today we bus up to Ullapool and across the Minch to Stornoway. See you up there!
