I was glad to see these lovely flowers at the lodge. The day had begun with devastating news.

Every Saturday I get out of the bath and attempt to read the local paper without my glasses on. I read the Deaths column and saw the news I had been dreading. I knew last year my Ex was very poorly after an operation and when circumstances caused me to check up on him last week I was told he was weakening.

I never thought he would die this soon, this young. Just two years older than me. A very strong man, a joiner, a builder, a farmer - prize winning cattle breeder.
