What is it??

It was pouring rain this morning which put end to my plan to work on weeding the yard (much to my delight) , so other than church & going out for breakfast I've pretty much been lazy today! When I took the garbage out, the shape of this caught my eye, so I went for the camera & this is my Sunday blip!
It's one of the shocks from Tom's Harley Davidson Sportster:  a nice spiral shape & really clean & shiny! :))
