The Harvest Reaper

A bit of a wet and cold start to our break but we still got out. This wreck is the Harvest Reaper a trawler that was savaged in the 1980's and landed on the quayside at Burghead by a man who thought that repairing her would be a good retirement project. Unfortunately he is 67 and still working so it was not possible for him to complete his project. More recently the Council threatened to destroy the boat as it stood in the way of a council development. A local businessman saved the day when he arranged to have the boat moved along the quay. It is hoped it will now be restored as a monument to the local historic fishing industry.

I blipped it here in it's old location on a previous one day trip about a year ago..
