Afternoon Tea

I got up at 7:30am today, and was dressed by 9! Jobs done by 11am, and then I went to mums's for a little bit before I went out for the weekend.

I received a spontaneous and unexpected invitation earlier in the week. My friend K (another K) had a spare ticket for afternoon tea at Sketch, just off of Regent Street.

I have never been for afternoon tea before, and this one was themed with Disney's "Into the Woods". Little R was suitably jealous as she sings this to Little B all the time. " I really hate to ask it, but do you have a basket"... you get the idea!

The place was really nice, and it was lovely to have a catch up in such lovely surroundings. The place was very cool, as it has these pods that look like eggs that you use the toilet in! Plus a skylight filled with amazing coloured squares that really shone in the sun.

After we had finished, we had a little walk about, and then settled in a courtyard where we had cocktails. I completely lost track of time, and there were a few messages from T on my phone, as we had said we would meet at the Nike Store at around 5pm.

We walked up, and it was nice that I could introduce T to K. We went our separate ways, and it was a really nice day. I meet up with her every couple of months, but next weekend, a year ago, was when we first met up again after quite a while, and went to see Matthew Hussey's Get the Guy workshop in Kensington. Last Year

I was in a pretty bad place this time last year, and it was so nice to see how much better things are a year later. Even K remarked that I seemed in a better place. I admitted I'm not "happy", but "happier". ;-)

T and I had a quick wander. I wanted to shop but he didn't, so he kind of spoilt my browsing by trying to chivvy me along! We went to the Whole Foods store where we picked up some lovely things, and then headed home via Southbank Market.

We went back to T's around 8pm, showered, and then had a little picnic of our Whole foods stuff- brown rice Sushi, watermelon, strawberries, figs, edamame beans and smoothies. We spent a bit of time messing about on the computer, and channel surfing. T's roommate H came back and the two of us tried to give T a musical education via TOTP2! Flashback to Bananarama, and all the 80's outfits! I was only a year old in '84 so I don't remember any of it, but I recognise a lot of the songs my parents must have listened to.
