This tranquil scene is the River Chelmer leading into Chelmsford town centre. This setting is at odds with the traffic that thunders past behind me! The other two photos are from the opposite side of the bridge and show the construction of a new bridge which will replace the one I'm standing on. When the new bridge is opened in 2016 the existing bridge will be demolished. What is  amazing is the amount of effort and resources that go into getting cars over a few metres of water!
