Les Jardins du Compostelle

This weekend lots of gardens are open to the public in the Charente, we went to one which is open all year though. The two we have visited so far have all had the look of recently planted/ not quite finished about them, or maybe it's the French way of planting everything so far apart that does that? Who knows, but it was in a lovely setting above a lake, and we were advised to help ourselves to any ripe fruit as it would all go to waste. Only the redcurrants were ripe today but we didn't pick any, maybe another time I'll go back with a bag.
