Toyota City: Koromo Shrine (Koromo Jinja)

This is Koromo Shrine, the centre of Shinto faith in Toyota City. "Koromo" was the former name of Toyota City and was known as that for over a thousand years prior. It is said that this place was founded in the late 12th Century and is still used to this day for people to worship the god (kami) known as "Komori Daimyoujin", the god for babies and children.

Each year the Koromo Festival is held here around September where floats from different parts of the city are brought here after their rounds around the neighbouring areas. There is lots of confetti and a lot of people with cameras. It's crazy stuff.
