House for an Art Lover

We were at a wedding here today, Claire who we've known all her life, and David her Russian husband. A real international gathering! The house was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1901 as an entry in a competition for "an art lovers house" set by the German magazine Zeitschrift Fur Innendekoration. The entry was disqualified as CRM was late submitting certain interior views of the house. Work to build the house began in 1989 but due to the recession in the early nineties completion was delayed till 1996.
