Volcano boarding

We arrived in Leon yesterday and explored the city in a day. Today we gave in to the biggest attraction in town. After a 45 min hike up the volcano Cerro Negro whilst carrying our boards (according to Cam apparently it's not in the backpacking budget to pay $5 for a guide to carry them :-/) we made it to the top! Some amazing views from the top which also made Jess feel sick in the stomach as you couldn't see the bottom of the volcano ... The 45 degree slope disappeared into thin air! In our sexy suits to protect us from gravel rash, we were ready. We went at the same time, Cam got a head start of Jess as the nerves got hold of her. Once you picked up some speed the adrenalin kicked in at about the same time the rocks started flying into our faces and mouths! The guide clocks your speed at the bottom, Cam at 39km/hr and Jess at 36km/hr! Volcano boarding is listed as number 2 on CNNs thrill seeker list and we are very proud to have done it!
