Emu up close

A quick trip to Orana Park this afternoon.  A bit grey, and very cold, but quite a lot of activity.  We hadn't seen the Tasmanian devils running around until today.  They are relatively new arrivals to the park, and last time we were there they were all in their dens.  We also saw the porcupine out feeding, just briefly.  I have a shot of quills, but not the whole animal!

I always like the emus, and am glad that the wire fence protects me from their powerful feet.  They can poke their beak through, but that is relatively harmless.  Today they were patrolling the fence line, so photography was easy.
