My neighbor, Ellie, cut me some fresh flowers from her lovely garden today - peonies, Canadian columbine, chives, and these irises which caught the light from the nearby window. As Charlie Rose said the other day when interviewing the photographer Sally Mann; as one ages, one increasingly appreciates kindness.
