Much happier today, thank you for all your sympathy yesterday. My eBay seller is refunding the money for the faulty camera, so the search goes on. I want a pocket compact with manual controls, as cheap as poss. Don't think I trust Fuji xf1 though...any ideas?

p.s. Changed the photo, after seeing these two out in the garden. Love this time of year.
