Memorial Arboretum
Today Clive and I went to have a look round Lichfield in the morning before meeting up with the others at the Arboretum. It was a lovely place, with a market and cathedral in lovely quiet and old streets dating back many years. Lovely to walk round, we bought some baskets for putting plants in.
Moving on to the arboretum, we all had lunch and then Clive, Jon and I found the area for the people who got the Burma Star and thought about Clive's dad, who endured so much during the war. Thankfully, he was one of the lucky ones who survived. We took a train round some of the sites and were shown some of the organisations who had a plot there. The main section, set on a hill, was very moving.
Additional pictures are from both these places.
