FETE DU VELO

We caught the train into Lille, found the Tourist Information office and started to make our way to the old town. We came across A Great Bicycle Parade which was promoting the bicycle. There were so many different kinds: tandems, three and four seater bikes, bikes with carriers at the front, and at the back. There were musicians, playing  on tandems and in carriers. It was really exciting and great fun.
People were asked to bring their unwanted bikes so they could be repaired and sold for funds towards Beating Cystic Fibrosis.
As time went on more and more people joined the gathering in the square. When it was time to move to a different location they all moved off together.
How lucky were we to stumble across this?!!!
