Why I do My Job

Teaching is one of the most frustrating, stressful and tiring jobs I can imagine (I am sure there are others I just know how frustrated, stressed and tired I am most of the time), but despite how much I moan and complain about my job I love it and wouldn't do anything else. So why two lion bars? Well a difficult year 11 boy was 2 weeks away from the controlled assessment deadline with very little work completed. It looked like he might fail and he had all but given up but I wouldn't give up and at first he looked like he wanted to give me a slap when I said I would help (he isn't in my class so I didn't really know him) but several lunch times later and many given up free periods and he had his target grade. He was so chuffed and to say thanks he bought me the Lion bars. He told me one was for me and one was for the baby. It really was a lovely thought and this is why I do my job!
