The Bird And I

Does that bird
in the sky
really know how I feel?

Most likely not
but when Nina sings that it does
you know what she means.

The bird and I
may have shared
the same sense of freedom today

and I’m sure we both
enjoyed the weather.
(What a difference a day makes).

Of course, such birds,
being superior creatures,
have no need to put their feelings into words

and share them with you.
(Unlike me!)
They would nick your chips though

which is something
I would (probably)
not do.
