THERE MAY BE LESS WATERBIRDS

here in and around the Weser, than there are in the parks of The Hague, but this female duck I am always so glad to see. She has a very uplifting character, and loves to play around.
In the morning it felt cold inside as well as outside, but after lunch that changed a bit.
We drove to the supermarket, left our car there and roamed the streets (there are really so few) of our town.
One old stone wall of the canal towards the harbour had been fixed and we saw the craftsmen working on the last wall.
It is a strange sight the bottom of the harbour has changed into a jungle of weed, bushes and even trees. When the restoration has been finished and the water will stream again, we wonder what will happen then.
We even heared frogs croak in the little stream that goes in the middle.
When we came home again, it was pleasant to drink our tea on the balcony and put off our sweathers.

My problem with the laptop has disappeared, because I am very careful not to do too many things at the same time. And that feels a lot better, for me and for the old machine.

My haiku:

Hello dear, are you
Back again and what about
A celebration?

And the proverb:

Better come at the latter end of a feast than the beginning of a fray.

1546  Heywood II, VII, 65.
