Treasure

They’ve just refurbished our local Oxfam shop and re-opened it with a new ‘vintage’ section. It’s basically a means of getting a bit more money for tat of a certain age but, you know, it’s for charity… Anyway, I picked up a couple of art essentials. I’m not sure if the lino tools are of any real age but there’s a nice wooden handle with a copper ferrule, a good sharp medium v-cutter (the only one of an original five but it’s the one you’d want to have survived) and a slightly tarnished tool with a hook to remove blades and possibly some other arcane purpose of which I’m unaware. To be honest, I’d have paid the couple of quid involved just for the nice box. Oh, and The Observer’s Book of Ferns. A classic.

My listening choices today (if you ignore a short but memorable diversion into Luke Haines playing 'Jerusalem' on a kazoo...) might have been a bit  'shambly' for some tastes...
