If you can't beat them...

Globeflower.

A busy day.  We had taken down all the stand and boxed everything last night.  There was only the Marquee left standing.  So the first thing was get the Marquee down while it was still dry.  This proved to be an interesting exercise with a strong wind blowing.  However it was soon down and packed into the trailer, which was the cue for a nice cuppa and some refreshment in the caravan.  A wind assisted run up the M6 meant we were home in time for lunch.  Then of course the work of unpacking the caravan and starting the Lodge laundry was waiting.

As a result I didn't get down to thinking about blipping until quite late.  So it was look for something to take a shot of.  My eye fell on a pot of these little Globeflowers.  The plant is of Trollius X cultorum "Alabaster".  A plant loving damp places this hybrid is (in spite of what my shot shows) a soft yellow and only a few inches high compared to the tweo feet or more of some of the species.  Trollius seem to tolerate most types of soil and position.  They can be divided in the autumn or spring to produce new plants.
